       Noko, tafiita minwe

Literal translation: 

Your mother never has dirty hands

Meaning: 

Never criticise your mother, ignore her failings. If your mother has a sickness, care for her.

Bemba meaning

Umufyashiobe tabipa mu musango uuli onse nangu abe nobulema bwa musango shani. Alingile ukusakamanwa  pantu ewakuleta pa calo. Umufyashi aliinga ukupelwa umucinshi uwapwilililka.

Literal translation: 

Your mother is old. Don’t think she did not have comeliness of youth

Meaning:

Do not stop loving or respecting your mother when she gets old.

Bemba meaning: 

Taufwile ukuleka ukucindika noko nga akota. Ufwile lyonse ukumulanga icikuuku nomucinshi epakuti ukashale nepaalo nangu afwa.

3.     Noko wa mubiyo, takungwa nshima

Literal translation: 

You cannot coax a meal out of someone else`s mother

Meaning

Only your mother will spoil you or will tolerate your whims. Your mother can protect and take care of you more than somebody`s mother

Bemba meaning: 

Ilingi kulaba ukumfwila ba noko  kanshi nangu ifyo balekweba tafilondolweke kufikonka. Kanshi nangu kukonaula cintu cayanguka pantu noko ewingas uminishafye ifyabuwelewele fyobe.

     Ako usulile, ekoopa noko

Literal translation: 

A man you used to despise, is the one who married your mother.

Meaning:

Do not despite somebody, tomorrow he/she might be your guardian. Do not judge people`s dignity by their looks.

Bemba meaning: 

Tacaliinga kusula umuntu pafyo alemoneka pali leelo pantu tawishiibe ifyo akaba pali mailo. Limbi ulya wine ewingesakusunga. Kanshi cilingile ukucindika umuntu onse kumo naabo ulesunga pa ng`anda pantu uusunga umunankwe teeshibikwa.

5.     Cimumbwa pala noko, pala wiso ukuwama

Literal translation: 

Cimumbwa, dollimitate your mother imitate your father in being good.

Meaning:

A child should learn good manners from its parents. It should not devise its own nor learn them from strangers

Bemba meaning: 

umwana afwile ukusenda imisango isuma ku bafyashi bakwe teekuitolela imibeele yakwe iyalubaana. Kanshi nincito yabafyashi ukulamona ifyo umwana alekula mu mibeele na ukushininkisha ukuti alekulila mu mibeele isuma

6.     Nkaya mailo, ni noko wamubiyo afwile

Literal translation: 

I will go tomorrow, its somebody else`s mother who died

Meaning:

Somebody else`s bereavement does not disturb you that much.

Bemba meaning:

Ubwafya nga buli pa munobe tabusakamika saana. Limo teeti bonaule nemilimo ulebomba pantu bulamoneka ukwanguka ico buli ukutali.

      Ukukaana ilya musha kano uli na  noko wakonkako

Literal translation: 

To afford to refuse the breast of a slave , you must still have your mother to suck from

Meaning:

One can afford to be difficult for food or anything else only if one is sure to be  able to get something better elsewhere

Umuntu kuti asuula atemwa ukukaana icakulya nangula icintu cimbi ico amwene nangu icilipo nga cakuti naishiba ukuti nakwata kumbi uko alaafumya fimbi ificililepo ukuwama.

   Noko wamubiyo, teekatilwa pa lwino

Literal translation: 

Your friend`s mother will not let you touch her larder

Meaning

Somebody who is not your mother will not have your mother`s tolerance with you

Bemba meaning: 

Uushili noko teeti akusuminishe ukulacita ifishilolelemo nga ifyo noko engakuleka
