Literal translation:The country, the  plains i.e. the chiefs, the elders.

Meanin: The chief must not govern without the counsel of theelders.

Bemba Meaning: Mfumu tetiintungulule icalo ukwabula ubwafwilisho ukufuma kuli bacilolo.

Calo bantu: umwabula bantu, masala.

Literal translation: The country (kingdom) consists ofpeople: without people, it is just empty bush.

Meaning : Leaders or rulers must respect theirsubordinates because without people they will not be there.

Bemba Meaning: Intungulushiyalinga ukucindika abantu pantu ebene bufumu. Abantu ebacindamika umunabo.

Calo cino te cakukwikila meno luse (lukasu).

Literal translation: The teeth should not be set as firmlyinto this world as a handle to a hoe.

Meaning: Take care: this is no land of milk and honey; it canturn against you if you do not work.

Bemba Meaning: Ukwikalameno busokwa, kusekaseka kasuba konse ne cishiweme walaseka. Abantu pano isondebasuma kabili babi ngashi. Tabasakamana ama cushi ya banabo. Balepaya kabilibakusenda bayakushika nokukushika.
