Characteristic of the negative distant continuous future.

Example of use

1. Uku tuleya, tamwakaleenga umucele MEANING: You will not (in the distant continuous future) make salt.

 

The final vowel of …akale…does not contract: Tamwakaleenga umucele, but the initial vowel  becomes long: taakalelya inama  MEANING he will not eat any more meat.

Note: the contraction between the last vowel of a verb in the negative form and the first vowel of the following word is never made.

Example of use

Tamwakaleimba umukuba MEANING: You will not (in the distant continuous future) mine copper.
